There are many good reasons to use a centrifugal fan in your industrial process. Understanding the basic principles of how it works, you can choose the right fan for your application and make sure it is installed correctly. With proper maintenance, a centrifugal fan can work trouble-free for years.
Here is the content:
What is the design of a centrifugal fan?
What are the performance characteristics of centrifugal fans?
What should be considered when installing centrifugal fans?
Structure
The centrifugal fan consists of a housing, a main shaft, a impeller, a bearing transmission mechanism and a motor.
Chassis: It is made of sheet steel, which is solid and reliable. It can be divided into integral type and semi-open type. The semi-open version is easy to overhaul.
Wheel: It consists of blades, a curved front disc and a flat rear disc.
Rotor: It should be static and dynamically balanced to ensure stable rotation and good performance.
Transmission part: It consists of main shaft, bearing housing, rolling bearing and pulley (or clutch).
Radial fan is essentially a device with variable flow and constant pressure. At constant speed, the theoretical pressure-volume flow curve of the centrifugal fan should be a straight line. Due to internal losses, the actual characteristic curve is curved. The pressure developed in a centrifugal fan is strongly influenced by changes in inlet temperature or density. At a given intake air volume, the pressure generated at the highest intake air temperature (lowest air density) is the lowest. For a given pressure and flow characteristic, there is a power and flow characteristic. When the fan is running at a constant speed, the required power increases at a given flow rate as the intake air temperature drops.
1.Installation of the overall unit of the centrifugal fan should be placed directly on the foundation and leveled with a pair of inclined upholstery irons.
2.For the on-site mounted centrifugal fan, the cutting surface at the base should be properly protected and there should be no corrosion or manipulation. If the base is placed on the foundation, it should be leveled with a pair of inclined upholstery irons.
3.The bearing seat and base should be firmly connected and the longitudinal unevenness should not exceed 0.2/1000. Measure it on the main shaft with a level meter. The horizontal uneven floor should not exceed 0.3/1000. Measurement.
4.Before the bearing bushing is scraped, the axis line of the rotor and the axis line of the housing should be corrected, as well as the gap between the impeller and the air inlet, and the gap between the main shaft and the shaft hole of the rear side plate of the housing should be adapted to the equipment technology at the same time.
